And so, everyone's favourite goth finds religion. It may seem sudden, but I'm sure she has her reasons...besides, we couldn't pack an entire religious sermon into one comic, now can we? Also, now you know what Jeffism is about. Good thing too, because it's definitely going to be a returning theme.
Also, because of timing issues with both me and Kyle, we have decided to switch Sold Out to a Monday/Friday schedule. We haven't told Dom this yet though, so he hasn't fixed it yet in the page title (I don't deal with the backend, I dislike messing with other people's voodoo). But, expect our updates to come on those days from now on.
So, a week's gone by since our last update, and some change. What are we to talk about this time? I'm sure by now you guys know I am quite the fan of free music, so I'm going to tell you about some things you might not heard about.
Starting with one I am almost sure you have not heard about, unless you're either a friend of ours or local to the guy's area, but my friend Billy's band, Obviatus, cute a new album. My friend, Domingo, who also coded the Vanilli backend to Sold Out, is hosting their album for now. I was surprised when I first heard it, because the last time I heard from them was some half-assed guitar licks and some singing, not the most amazing thing album. The fact that they have a full album now, a QUALITY full album, was surprising. It's sub-studio quality sadly. They recorded it in an honest to God studio, but you'll notice some lack of proper levels here and there. The album's really good though, I especially loved their cover of Fool on the Hill (what with me being the Beatles fan I am. I don't go around with the name "Mr. Kite" for no reason, you know). If the album had to have a single, I think it'd be the very awesome "Nice Day for a Walk." I also enjoyed the Thorns/Coda/Thin Black Line songs, which all string together to make one really awesome song. As well, Coda is sort of the juxtaposition point for the entire album. It all comes together rather nicely.
I feel I should also talk about Europunk.net Compilation 2. If you like solid punk rock, as well as a little bit of ska, reggae, and rockabilly, this might be for you. I especially love the track by Bomb The Music Industry, who as their name suggest...don't like the music industry. All of their albums are also free via their website. The only thing that displeased me was the track by Ephen Rian. It's just a personal thing, but I don't like emo-core or screamo. Emo's cool, but when you start trying to scream in melody...it just doesn't work. Unless you are The Vines. But then, their voices get produced to death - anyone who has heard them live can tell you this much.
Enough of the music, let's talk movies. I saw Just Friends last night, the latest Ryan Reynolds flick. The man is just fucking hysterical, what can I say? The writing for the movie feels like almost any Ben Stiller movie. It's about two hours of extremely uncomfortable situation, with a steady stream of cock blocking and relationship anxiety humour. This movie WILL make you feel like your balls are being pounded under a hammer for two hours steady (for those of you who have them anyway), as Ryan seriously goes through several layers of hell some of us have been through ourselves.
Honestly, if it wasn't for Ryan himself, I would never suggest this movie, as on its own it has a few funny points but nothing drop dead hysterical. But, a lot of his lines come off so perfectly and smoothly, just as they did in Waiting.... I feel I have gushed about Ryan Reynolds a bit much lately, but if so only because I feel he is the next big comedic actor of our time, poised and ready to take over Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler and Jim Carey. It helps that he's funnier than all of the above.

Sometimes I think, I should read over these rants before I post them.
Then I think...nah, that's half the fun.

Mmm for those of you who are curious about this new religion, the time will come.
Take that as foreshadowing, or it could be something more? Those of you who pay attention may already know what I'm talking about, but still not likely.
