I currently am really sick, so I apologize if my rant is...weird. I'll try to write it as well as I can, but this has definitely been the worse week ever for me (I'd go into detail on what's been wrong but that's definitely too emo for me - if you really care feel free to ask).

I didn't really have a chance to do much this week besides play through the first case of Phoenix Wright, and chapter one of case two, but I have seen enough to know this game is awesome.

You play the role of Phoenix Write, a brand new lawyer with relatively no experience under his belt. The action takes place on the top screen with dialog blipping across the bottom of the top screen. The bottom screen is for choosing actions and using various pieces of evidence.

I was kind of semi-interested in it after I heard from almost everywhere that this game is freaking amazing. However, just as I scraped up the cash to buy a copy for myself, they stopped making the game - and the EBay price skyrocketed to $40.

Considering I have enough games that aren't portable that I need to play, I could have contently sat back and play the waiting game.

The, Robbie came by the other morning while I was finishing up some homework to inform me that some sad, sad creature dared to sell this game to gamestop. Whoever it was hardly even played the game. For shame.

Of course, I rushed to take a shower, and then we went to Gamestop. $20, under half the EBay price (especially when you consider shipping). I like good deals.

Back to the gameplay, I couldn't be more delighted with it. The play is smooth, giving you plenty of time to think about your strategy and how you want to go about doing things. Your job is to punch big gaping holes in the testimonies of the people on the stand. There is a certain happy glee when Phoenix shouts OBJECTION! and things go all crazy.

Everything is hand drawn, so movement takes place in a sort of panel to panel fashion, which actually feels pretty cool despite being a slightly old school approach. Also, I know it's gimmicky, but physically yelling OBJECTION! is just fun. Of course, I think the mic will take any input, so yelling TAKE THAT, FUCKERS! is just as effective, and more fun.

Also, good call guys on setting up the Y button having to be held in order to use the mic. I was pissed off when I couldn't play Lunar on a road trip because the windows were down and the wind hitting the mic made me run from battle. Very uncool.

Since the game is no longer being produced (VERY short run time, comparitively), I have my doubts about the rest of the series hitting the states. The quality of the translation for the first one is amazing, and somehow I get the feeling they might not have gotten the return they needed on the first one with such a limited release - still, there's hope in the eyes of fanboys across the nation. If nothing else, I could just learn Japanese and import the rest of the series!

Insert dramatic music here.

I've been voting daily since the request went up.

Wow, talk about gaming religion...

Looks like someone's going to do something just a BIT extreme.

Just a bit.

They stopped making Phoenix Wright?!?

I think the game was actually the Lunar series.

That's why it talks about "the first one".

Well, I think.

#110! We're almost there!

I need that Pheonix Wright. I'd love an excuse to just shout out "You fail, dumbass!" in public.

I meant the Pheonix Wright game, not Pheonix Wright himself.
...I'm heterosexual, by the way.

Objection!

The last response clearly contradicts earlier testimony!

I submit to the court that SL may in fact be heterosexual, but has fantasies about fictional male characters!

*audience murmurs, Edgeworth looks speechless*

Obviously, other people have other beliefs about the future of Phoenix Wright in America, but yes, I do PERSONALLY believe that such a limited press might spell the end for the game in NA.

Also, the game released is a re-release of the first Phoenix Wright game, updated for DS ability...stuff.

But then, I could be wrong. As Comic pointed out to me, Atlas is a company totally known for limited release runs. I'm just not sure if that is Capcom's style. I don't really follow them much.

Capcom has a really weird, long production time... they were still selling new copies of Megaman X4 in 2002. Go figure.
