  Blacken-Japanium alloy is simply a specially-treated form of Chogokin Z. Other metals had been attempted, such as Chogokin New-Z and even Luna Titanium and
Gundarium, but it either made the robot much heavier than it needed to be and interfered with movement or hampered its durability.
 Energy source: Tion Energy
  Tion Energy can generally be described as Getter Rays meeting the G-Stone: an odd - seemingly mystical at times - energy force which can be affected by the
emotions of those in contact with it. In its dormant state Tion Energy is colorless and nearly impossible to detect, but when "active" it can take any number
of properties, most notably a bluish-green, semitransparent aura and when synthetically processed a like-colored liquid (known as T-Fuel). While anyone can
cause Tion Energy to react to them, there exists a percentage of the population capable of utilizing it to their own will. These people have since been
identified as "Grands".
  Tion Energy is harmless when dormant, and most often not harmful if proper care is taken, but when harnessed by a Grand exhibiting extreme distress or
anger it can be used as a highly-lethal weapon to anyone or anything it is directed at. This comes as a double-edged sword, however, as Tion Energy's own
fuel is the emotions of those who handle it in its rawest form, and if used in such a state long enough tends to turn on and kill its user due to lack of
control over the charged Energy. Something seems to be lost in the process during the creation of T-Fuel, however, as while it exhibits the same properties,
it is on a much smaller scale and can be be sealed away even from the most powerful Grands with the proper handling, thus rendering it a harmless,
high-quality fuel source.
  A third form of Tion Energy is currently unique to Blacktion: that of the Tion Engine. The Engine processes raw Tion Energy, but in a different method than
that required to make T-Fuel, so the Energy would continue to display its volatile effects in the presence of a Grand. As a safeguard, however, the Engine
was built so that the only Grand who can harness it is one who is linked to the Engine itself. As the prototype Tion Engines were developed, these links
ranged from full-body suits to helmets to the pilot physically being wired to the Engine, and currently the only acting link to Blacktion's Tion Engine is in
the form of the robot's own AI entity.
 
WEAPONS AND ARMAMENTS
 GRAND BLADE
  A large sword nested in Blacktion's right arm, which can separate into a pair of individually-weaker swords to offer a dual-wielding ability if necessary.
The tip of the Blade can also be used in a katar/pile-like fashion while still within Blacktion's arm, increasing its punching power.
 BLACKEN SHIELD
  A shield stored on the right shoulder of Blacktion, carried on its left arm when in active use. Typically used to swat weaker attacks away with minimal
effort, as it is only marginally stronger than Blacktion's normal armor. Can be used as a blunt force weapon if the pilot is inclined to do so.
 TION BUSTER CANNON
  Blacktion's hip armor can detach and transform into a pair of hand-used machine cannons. Despite the name, the Buster Cannons use traditional giant robot
bullets. This is the only ammunition-dependent weapon in Blacktion's mounted arsenal.
 TION RAY
  A burst of Tion Energy fired most often from Blacktion's eyes, though on occasion any of the regulator spheres can fire a beam as well.
 TION SCATTER BURST
  Several beams of Tion Energy fired from Blacktion's regulator spheres.
 RAIL CRUSHER PUNCH
  Either or both of Blacktion's forearms can transform into a set of rails, revealing the "true" arm beneath the armor, which is then launched Rocket Punch
style. Often used as a hissatsu if Grand Driver is not deemed necessary.
 TION CRUSHER PUNCH
  Precisely the same Rail Crusher Punch, only infused with Tion Energy. Rarely used, as the Grand Driver can often produce the same results.
 GRAND DRIVER
  The Grand Blade is charged with Tion Energy, vastly increasing its damaging power, and buried into the enemy in any number of ways, before being torn out
and swung again, cleaving the opponent into pieces. Blacktion's signature hissatsu.
  The most oft-used version of this attack involves Blacktion leaping high into the air and charging the Grand Blade on the way down, thus increasing the
force behind the initial spearing of the Blade.
 GRAND SHINE (MAP ATTACK)
  A massive blast of Tion Energy, catalyzed by charging Blacktion near and to the breaking point. Essentially a very large-scale Tion Scatter Burst.
 GRAND SHINE (TRUE VERSION)
  Blacktion's most powerful attack. The entire robot is overloaded with Tion Energy, which culminates in a brutal charge against the enemy, in which all the
stored energy is released in a blaze of blue-green death. This attack often heavily damages Blacktion itself, and as such tends to be used as a last resort.
