Additionally, several series will change hands between each route, though many will appear in one or the other's much later. For example, while following the Odinsordr, the units of Sold Out will not be available until nearly 1/4 of the way through the game, while the Latis is one of the first battleships in Hrist's route; likewise, Gingablaze will not be playable in the Hrist's route for a long while, though it is an early-joining ally of the Odinsordr. Utilizing the Cross Story System at certain points of the game will prove to be the key to unlocking many of the game's secret units and stories. Multi-Cross Drive: The experimental engine equipped aboard the Odinsordr and Hrist, the Multi-Cross Drive is the main plot device of the game, and the second key to finding the game's secrets. The MCD is capable of blurring or even shattering the boundaries between alternate worlds, space itself and possibly even timelines, initially created for research into such things. During the game's story, however, this will be often used to unlock secret units and even entire series: without it, one will not gain the services of certain units such as those of Turn A Gundam, Grand Robo Blacktion, or L-Gaim. This system, in conjunction with the Cross Story System, allows for many different ways to play the game. The Originals Odinsordr The first robot to be installed with the Multi-Cross Drive, originally designed simply to be an explorer-type but fitted for combat prior to the game's events, the Odinsordr is SRWC's original Super Robot. Hrist The third machine to be installed with the Multi-Cross Drive, the Hrist is the game's original Real Robot. Unique in a way, the Hrist is actually not playable at the beginning of the game; instead, the protagonist first pilots a space-capable fighter jet which has the MCD fitted onto it as an experiment, and upon being drug in the middle of a battle between the Dragonar progagonists and Giganos, the Hrist is built.
