Wild ARMs: Grand Descent Artifact Remnant Machine Thousands of years ago, the planet of Filgaia was ruled by giant metal creatures known only as "demons." The rule of these titans were absolute, using not only their size but gigantic mechanical weapons upon the lower creatures of the world, resulting in what historians would call huge scars upon the land, scars which would seem to be the source of the decay of the once-green planet, turning most of Filgaia into a wasteland. Eventually, however, ancient humankind would develop a way to resist: the creation of the Guardian Golem, man-made, man-piloted constructs that matched the size of demons and were even capable of turning their weapons against them. It is unknown precisely the outcome of the wars that erupted between man and demon during those times, though archaeologists have since discovered remnants of many fights between the demons and Golems, particularly the giant, fearsome demon-wielded weapons. These weapons eventually became known as ARMs. After unearthing these machines and rediscovering the secret to building the Guardian Golems long forgotten after the disappearance of the demons, they have since been used against the native beasts roaming Filgaia in defense and against fellow man in the occasional war. Now, however, they are most famous for use by Drifters, mercenaries-for-hire who often provide service in either format. Perhaps the most adept at synchronizing both with the Guardian Golems and the ARM weapons wielded by them, Drifters come and go as they please across the barren landscapes, lending their services to those who require them for a price. Asgard is a "true" Guardian Golem, one of the original lines created thousands of years ago in stark contrast to the more streamlined, modern Golems. This line seems to have been created emphasizing extreme defense, capable of generating a powerful barrier to protect itself and allies around it. Weapons and Armaments: Superluminal Fist: The natural ARM of Asgard, a massive turbine attached to the right arm of the Guardian Golem used to empower its punching attacks to an extreme level. G77 Airget-Lamh: A gigantic machine pistol ARM that is Hyatt's weapon of choice, seconding even the Superluminal Fist. While relatively weak in individual bursts compared to most ARMs, the Airget-Lamh boasts an extraordinarily high rate of fire that more than makes up for this shortcoming. Inside this section is the GRANZAMBER's "true" form, folding out into a high-powered shotgun for ranged attacks. GRANZAMBER SIEG (Shotgun mode.) Negative Rainbow: A special technique devised by Crowe using both forms of the GRANZAMBER, impaling and lifting an opponent before opening SIEG mode and opening fire at point-blank range. As Lee prefers close, crushing combat over ranged firing, the Phantom Fang's blade suits him and Justine's powerful frame perfectly. The Coyote Bantam-R is, among the team of six Drifters, the highest- power ARM of the team, a large bazooka that, while lacking in the ammunition department, can take out many opponents with just one shot. This oddly-named weapon packs an incredible amount of power for a one-handed ARM. Twin Orbs: Raftina's natural ARM, a pair of shoulder-mounted bits that can detach from the Guardian Golem and attack independently. This pair of ARMs can only fire their single laser weapon at one opponent at a time, though they are still quite powerful and can easily distract an opponent. Jet Fenrir: Boomerang Flash: Banisher: A natural ARM within Luceid's chest, a gigantic particle beam capable of outright destroying many opponents. However, the ARM takes so much energy it can only be used once before Luceid runs out of power, thus placing it squarely in the "last resort" category. Layline Medium Channel The Layline Medium Channel Background/Description: A system which all Guardian Golems are connected to, essentially a direct line to the consciousness of Filgaia itself. Equipping a Medium Plate to the Guardian Golem will align it to one particular Medium, which will affect the Golem's performances accordingly. Each Medium also has an "outburst mode" which will create a customized ARM for a moment and allow the Golem to attack using that weapon, often far more powerful than their own regular equipment. Mediums: Earth Roar: Attaching the Earth Roar Medium Plate aligns the Guardian Golem to allow for highly-defensive behaviors, producing a nigh-unbreakable guard should the Golem's pilot stand ground. The Outburst Mode, dubbed Planet Breaker, forms a massive piledriver ARM for the Golem, creating a large shockwave that breaks apart the very ground around the user, attacking enemies with spires of rock and the shockwave itself. () Gale Claw: Hi-Speed Ripper: () Fiery Rage: The Fiery Rage Medium Plate imbues the Guardian Golem's ARMs with incredible power, dealing far more damage than usual. The Medium's Outburst Mode, Vapor Blast, creates a flamethrower ARM which spews intense fire to burn an enemy to ash in moments. (Flamethrower weapon.) Thunder Fang: The Thunder Fang Medium Plate provides the equipped Guardian Golem with small though not insignificant boosts to its speed and damage output, as well as a highly powerful Outburst Mode, the Dash Collider. This weapon seems to replace the Guardian Golem's arm with a much larger mechanical power fist that rockets forward after a moment, colliding with an opponent with such force that no defense seems capable of stopping it. (Kyoukagata Rocket Punch.) Ice Crystal: Icicle End: Freeze ray ARM. (Should basically be like a minor System Limiter, decreasing stats while giving end-of-fight bonuses. Outburst Mode should be a small-damage attack that ideally would add onto those bonuses the Medium Plate already gives if it kills something.) Flash Hit: Augoeides: Large-scale focused laser cannon ARM.
