So, my last project kind of uh...flopped, cause I couldn't program what I needed to, and I don't know a programmer capable of doing what is needed. SO. I'm hashing out plans for something NEW AND EXCITING! Aren't you all happy, kids? I'll start posting the details I have so far by the end of the week, I've already got a plotline for Episode 1 hashed out. My only worry is whether to take this as a book, or a graphic novel...if graphic novel I have a different artist ((no offense to Kyle but my room mate called dibs)), but I haven't a damn clue what to do about coloring the damned thing.

I'm new and excited. Or just one of those.
Just sketch some layouts and write a chapter or two, see which one you feel works better.

Here's the basis of the story, I've got more detail fleshed out but I think this suffices for a basic rundown of Chapter 1:
We follow our protagonists, Zach and Ralph - your average 20-something quarter-life crisis fuck-up slackers, as they continue trying to live their lives despite the apocolypse that just hit. They're perfectly comfortable goofing about in the remnants of Hunstville, Alabama; ground zero for the rise of sentience of electronics - until The Resistance, a swarm of ex-militia rednecks wielding steampunk gear, decide to march on their street. After unsucessfully trying to disuade The Reistance that marching on their home turf will do nothing, the robotic overlords send a "greeting team" to gather them up. They are given two options - serve in their "servitude camps," or join the questionable Beta Squad as undercover cyborgs.
Thoughts?

Alabama? Are they a leading area in robotics?
I am mildly baffled that robots would need slave labour, considering that low-intelligence robot labourers would ostensibly be ideal for the job. What would they be using humans for?
Offline
My idea is that these robots do not see themselves as leading the holocaust against humanity that they actually are running, but instead see themselves as ascerting their role as the superior "race" on Earth. Thusly why all of their killers and assassins are programmed to be as absolutely civil as possible while gunning down waves of humans.

I'm highly enthused. I would encourage you to go a textual route. Unless however you write fiction is a way I don't like somehow. If you've posted any of that before, I don't remember what it is. Have you written anything before? It's hard! (for me).

I've written before, just never posted most of my writings here. I could, really. I tend to write more serious things when I write for myself.
That said, though, I've been thinking and this whole plot idea comes at an interesting time, with NaNoWriMo being around the corner - so I think this very well might be a story. A comic would be nice, but it's going to be so dialogue heavy I just don't see how it would work in that format.

Also, from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Huntsville,_Alabama ...
Huntsville's main economic influence is derived from aerospace and military technology. Redstone Arsenal, Cummings Research Park (CRP), and NASA's Marshall Space Flight Center comprise the main hubs for the area's technology-driven economy. CRP is the second largest research park in the United States and the fourth largest in the world, and is over 38 years old. Huntsville is also home for commercial technology companies such as the network access company ADTRAN, computer graphics company Intergraph and design and manufacturer of IT infrastructure Avocent. Telecommunications provider Deltacom, Inc. and copper tube manufacturer and distributor Wolverine Tube are also based in Huntsville. Cinram manufactures and distributes 20th Century Fox DVDs and Blu-ray Discs out of their Huntsville plant. Sanmina-SCI also has a large presence in the area. Forty-two Fortune 500 companies have operations in Huntsville.
In 2005, Forbes Magazine named the Huntsville-Decatur Combined Statistical Area as 6th best place in the nation for doing business, and number one in terms of the number of engineers per total employment. In 2006, Huntsville dropped to 14th; the prevalence of engineers was not considered in the 2006 ranking.

Pffff. I'm actually doing a couple chapters of my mecha comic for a scholarship portfolio anyway, so... yeah.

That's one of those things I mean to read, but I'm between 1/2 and 2/3rds of the way through a trilogy depending on how much you count the fourth one.
(no, not that, a different one).

I stand corrected.
Well, sit, but it's the same idea.

Ah, here's this. I was poking around for a while looking for it. I found posts by me. I'm strange and semicoherent, you should all congratulate yourself for putting up with me. Thanks!
So, NoSaNoOs has lapsed... no, that's my avatar. NaNoWriMo is the thing I mean; it's over. How done is your novel, Kite? Any amount?
In lieu of that, how about anyone except me post something?
edit: Ah, it's Dai Gurren now. I thought it was still NoSaNoOs (this thing. This is a strange person. If you like weird corners of the internet, that page is one.)

The last 2/3rds of the second paragraph are what matters. I see you got at least the last sentence there.

o_o I have no idea what this thread is about.
...But I'm posting anyway!
Yaaay traffic! :]
...Well not really, but. Yeah. I don't know. o_o
I'm confused after hearing my grandma tell me about the lady in the closet that she keeps seeing.

Here we are inside a see-through dream, I know. Living pictures fall apart and scream.
Here through the blackened vines you see the snow as it gently falls, and right to sleep you go.
