| This whole idea started off in a chat room you're not getting the name of for good reason. It's not like it's something I'm ashamed of, I just don't want a flood of fans (that we don't have) coming to a small chat room that I frequent. Anyway, at the time I was talking to Poe of Errant Story and Exploitation Now fame (name drop name drop) about the problems that fall on web comic artists. He says to me, if he just had a comic full of naked elf chicks and magic he'd more than likely have a much larger fan base than he has today. I then went on a spiel about different ideas, like some little girl who casts magic who is going out with a girl who looks like Tifa and has a gun arm. Just spouting nonsense based on tweaks on internet culture. I got a few polite laughs, nothing too big. I then went to sleep. When I woke up, it dawned on me...
...this isn't a bad idea.
So, I told all my friends about this idea, they laughed, and they asked me why I didn't do it. The reason is easy enough...I cannot draw. So, the idea was pushed aside.
Later, me and Chargon/Kyle/Sadistic Bastard were talking about reviving a comic I did before with some other friends of mine over on keenspace. We then looked at all the old stuff we had written up...and Chargon decided it wasn't funny. Then he said "let's do Sold Out" instead. And that, as they say, is that.
We're hosting here on fuitad with our own design because we both have worked with keenspace before and we wanted a little more freedom with our own comic. Don't get us wrong, keenspace is great and all, but we felt our own space would give us more visibility. Following that we had two different possibilities for people to develop our html. Andre at Facade Computer and Domingo at Digworld, both also use Fuitad as a host (which is a wonderful service, by the way, and quite cheap for the space!). We went with Domingo...I don't know why. For god sakes, someone tell me why I chose Domingo to code for me?
I'm not sure how or why Chargon decided on the art style we use, but I am pretty sure it has something to do with the fact that both of us are planning on using our excess server space for something Ragnarok Online-oriented *cough*. The style of the characters, you will admit, is quite similar. I like to call it quasi-chibi. My original thought was an overly done anime style, but I do like this style just as much. It just works.
In conclusion, read our web comic, visit our sponsors, buy our shit, and give us all your money.. Thank you, have a good day.
