I hope you all had a happy Boxing Day!

I have a great idea. Despite it being Wednesday now, let's pretend I posted this rant Monday. Everybody ready? Now...it's Monday! Wahoo!

I hope you all had a good Christmas. Mine was actually surprisingly pleasent. I spent some time with my brother in North Carolina (if you've ever heard a radio DJ named Chris Taylor, that would be him). Ever since he had his child he's only been able to work part time, so currently he's working weird hour shifts at some classic rock station up there. It was mildly entertaining to me the fact that their big prize give away is a case of Bud. You don't get more redneck than that.

My parents actually got me a rather interesting Christmas gift. It's so simple too, and probably the least expensive thing I got, but I love it. What I speak of is the Think Geek marshmallow gun. The problem with airsoft guns, to me, is they actually cause real pain. These just bounce off...and taste good. I think my favourite reaction was when I shot Zack in the head, it went along the lines of "what the...ooh, marshmallow." and picked it up off the floor and popped it in his mouth. Good times.

I have some movies I want to talk about, but I have the feeling I might not have anything else to say next update, so I'm holding back for now. But, I want to make this perfectly clear, before I go into detail, because if I stop one person from seeing this movie I will have done a good deed. Do NOT see "Fun with Dick and Jane." I'll admit, Jim Carey was funny, and if you love Jim Carey comedy it might be worth it to see this movie...but other than that it was really terrible. I'll expound upon it later, honest.

I finished Mario & Luigi: Partners in Time. It stood up to the quality given in the Gameboy game rather well. The action is rather addicting, with its frantic pace and constant introduction of new items to use and exploit. Also, the writing is absolutely hilarious. I especially love Luigi's interaction with the babies. It's priceless. Also, baby Mario's attempts to solve all problems by hitting them with a hammer. Good times.

I also enjoyed their use of dual screens. I am a little disappointed that during battles, combat rarely uses both screens, but the cinematics and the split areas made it interesting. They really did some amazing things with that.

Despite the fact that this was a quality game, it had its fair share of problems. For one, the difficulty on this game was not there at all. I suppose this is that way for a reason. The game designers, obviously, wanted a steady flow to their game. I commend them for their efforts, but it did nothing but annoy me. I never truly felt challenged in battle. As well, the puzzles were far too easy. I always had a pretty good idea of exactly what I needed to do - one small moment notwithstanding where I didn't realize that I could go under this one area. Finally, money comes so easily in this game. A little exploration and you'll have all the money you could ever need. I never once was in need of items, and I never had to sell old clothing to get new clothing or anything. I also wish that I could have traded in beans for better things. The selection was small, and it sucked. Sorry, it did. The only badges you really needed in that game was the cure badges anyway (ridiculously fucking cheap making an easy game five times easier with a simple choice of wardrobe, sure, but it's THERE, if I didn't use it I would spend the whole game thinking "I could be using that badge right now...").

Do I recommend this game? Hell yes. At several points I busted out laughing, a feat few games have ever achieved. But, if you want a challenge in any way, look elsewhere. Enjoy it for the wit, and the frantic battle system.

You know though, speaking of the battle system, I wish they would do similar timed attack/defense things in OTHER RPGs. It really gets you more into the game than continuously mashing X so you'll attack. Or, even worse, if it's Lunar just hitting the auto button and wait for the battle to work itself out. That's just weak, man. I liked it because it made me PLAY IT, I never felt like a passenger along for a nice ride.

I'm also glad it's a new year, and you know what that means. The game industry will SLOW THE FUCK DOWN AND GIVE ME TIME TO ACTUALLY PLAY THEIR GAMES. Thank the lord and the man Jesus. Can I get a gawd-bomb?

Oh...yeah, I'm almost finished reading the final The Dark Tower, if you catch that reference. Too many words here as is.

Well, She got him to punch the table twice, I believe. Something about stringing him along and getting him all worked up. Or, I could be all wrong. Either way is good.

Wow I forgot this was an injoke I think, but lets see if they explain it, so I don't have to.

Well? What about Dick and Jane?

I personally loved Lunar and how, when I didn't feel like doing the battles myself, I could put it on Auto and go eat something (I did it with the leader of the whore squad, whatever her name was, and won 3). I always enjoy the Auto feature being within the battle system, because there is always that point in time when your characters just become far too powerful for the enemies and it's boring to click attack over and over again.

In other news, I have a DS now, yay!

Still your fan, and still here, better call the exterminators,

Since it's Monday again, Merry Christmas, all! I have a few game recommendations to hand out. Number one: Indigo Prophecy. Fun, all be it, weird game. The story is interesting, and I like how they did the gameplay. About damn time we had something new. Another game I found good: From Russia With Love. It may be mostly because I'm a big Sean Connery fan, but I loved it. A bit short, but other than that it was good fun. Number three: Gun. GTA with horses. It was gewd fun. The whole time I was playing it I was doing random Clint Eastwood and Revolver Ocelot quotes. I just want to get two peacemakers so I can go "12 shots. This time I've got 12 shots." I almost pee my pants with glee. Almost.

I just want to second the recomendation of Gun.

There was this one scene where I was fighting this guy's posse as he threw fire at me, and it was kind of cool. next thing I realize, my horse is running at me, and I am all like "what is this horse doing?" The horse, appearently, had CAUGHT ON FIRE and was going crazy, and nearly ran me over in its firey madness.

So, I shot it until it died. The end.
