I'm not sure what these last comics are going to do for the guy who is making levels related to the comic for N (which you can see here, say sorry for forum stretching), but I do believe anyone put in this situation would be right fucked, and might be beyond the scope of the game itself...but then, we're here to be dramatic, not precise, right?
Let's talk Internet. There's some big goings on, shenanigans if you will. First and foremost, there is the ebaumsworld controversy. Now, we ALL knew that the owner steals material on a regular basis, and that he makes money off it. This is not the bothersome part, however. Maybe if he had put links to where he stole the material from, people wouldn't have cared. But that little watermark he puts on everything is nothing but a giant slap in the face.
However, the people at good old YTMND are unhappy. Their stuff was stolen this time, and they are not willing to take it sitting down. Of course, being internet people, they can't do this in any normal way. Instead, they decide to bomb his website with DOS attacks and CALL HIM AND HIS FAMILY AT HOME. Not only is this a YTMND thing, but severalotherwebsites have decided theyneed to join in on this as well.
Fuck dude, this is not kosher. You have to respect other webmasters, people who spend time putting together shit for your entertainment. Does ebaum make money off his site? Sure, but I can PROMISE you it isn't the amazing amount most people seem to think he is making. People, you're declaring war over WHO NOTICED THAT LINDSAY LOHAN DOESN'T CHANGE FACIAL EXPRESSIONS! I go by the old Internet axiom, "winning a debate on the Internet is still like winning the Special Olympics, even if you win you are still retarded." Even if you win, you're all still losing.
The only people with any credibility are the ones who wrote to his provider and told them that they were infringing on other's copyrights. The rest of you, especially the ones who went to his house, called him on the phone, and attacked his website. You are the blight of the Internet. Maybe that's a little harsh, but people who pull stunts like this show how truly little people actually respect those who go out of their way to do something for others.
In other news, there is this thing. First off, a note about the author of the article itself...way to make me sad to be a democrat. It seems like people on BOTH SIDES are quick to judge the other side, even if there are far better things to complain about than a little thing like this.
At this point the article has been around the Internet, and a few people are really up in arms about it, but...really, it's a small, tiny rider with questionable wording in a bill in a few years nobody is really going to notice. The word "annoy", in here, is questionable. As well, we ALREADY had a similar bill like this on the books that is hardly, if ever used.
I find the timing of these two things interesting though. At the same time someone is obviously doing something that I dare say might be considered "annoying", there is a bill about just such a thing being passed? Maybe, after all, this is a good thing?
After all, who needs rights like the ability to a free press anyway? | |
