Sorry for the late rant, I've been kind of burned out, between stupid friends doing stupid things and waaay too much work at school that I fear I will never catch up on, I've kind of been feeling drained lately, instead of writing a rant I did some much needed homework and caught up on some much needed sleep.
First and foremost, I would like to point out the vote button, nestled snugly between the LJ button (where you can subscribe to get reminders of when Sold Out updates for your LJ feed for those who don't want to check twice a week) and the Paypal link (currently received $1 from someone me and Kyle have known for like 8 years now, we've come to the conclusion that donations are stupid).
We really didn't want to do it, because it reeks slightly of...geocities. You know what I mean? Low caliber web development. In the end we decided, a little button isn't going to hurt anyone, and if it brings readers in, all the better.
However, I would like to note, we're currently on the second page of comics. Very few people are going to notice a comic there (besides a very stupid troll, who has been taken care of), so we made a decision.
Remember the donations package? Forget the donations part. We're going to make it free and available to everyone (the bonus comics AND the wallpapers, the subscriber section of the forums with hidden information is still on a paying basis [which means since we're no longer advertising that as being actually something that exists, it's there for the creators and the hard core fans])
All we want is to make it to a certain number on the webcomics ranking. If we do that, we'll give you all the stuff we have. The current goal? #50 or higher. For that, we'll release some wallpapers for your desktops. Cool? You bet. Higher numbers might get better results (we might actually do one of those bonus comics, and do be surprised if you see a new Kite Theatre if we actually get high enough as thanks)
Of course, if we get anything, I'll be sure to mention it here on the main page. So, happy voting!
I saw Final Destination 3 over the weekend. Think back to high school. Those of you currently in high school, think back to yesterday. Remember when your teacher was explaining foreshadowing, and she would give you a million examples to clarify it to you, and then you'd read something that contained heavy foreshadowing? They comprised every example of foreshadowing ever and made it into a horror movie.
I admit, I am a terrible person. As the people died in this movie, I was laughing my ass off. The script is absolutely hideous, whoever wrote it is either an outright moron or a total genius. The characters are so thin, transparent, and annoying that you can't WAIT for each one of them to reach their cleverly designed ends.
Each death is a cleverly designed Rube-Goldberg machine. All sorts of weird things come together to smash someone in the face and kill them. I thought that was rather wonderful and well orchestrated. As well, whoever is behind the special effects...my hats are off to you sir. You win. Also, I could not stop laughing at "Fuck you, Ben Franklin!" That was pretty awesome, and is going in my list of reactions to things I don't like (right behind "fuck bees!")
What sucks the movie into never ending abysmal depths of dumbassery is all the whining and complaining the main character does in this movie. All the parts meant to be heart felt moments ended up feeling like...like George Lucas wrote them.
Also, CUT IT OUT with the story in a story framed bullshit, and the "oooh, isn't this TUBE OF CREAM creepy?!" Your cream is not creepy. Stop trying to make me think it is. Get back to killing teeangers I couldn't even begin to like.
As a side note, that makes two movies in a row I have seen that had really fake titties in them for no reason. Are you trying to tell me something, Hollywood?
