I'm updating this all entirely from the rant box, so don't be surprised when there's a spelling error and a link is not correct or something. Cool?
We enjoy our crazy assed plot twists here at Sold Out, little things for you to know happened now because they will be important later. Having a little Liquid Snake syndrome will be important later. Trust me! In the mean time...don't worry about it. That, or make speculation threads on the board and try and figure it out amongst yourselves. Don't hurt yourselves over it.
I am very excited over this. It's a video of Will Wright talking about Spore. The video only shows the gameplay as he talks about it at some conference, not sure where, don't think it said in the video. You hear the audience though, and their various reactions.
The gameplay is really impressive. Just like your creature, it evolves over time. Going from a simle pacman-esque game, to a survival game, to an RTS, to a god game.
Speaking of the creatue, the way your design your creature totally changes your gameplay. First off, you can make your creature look HOWEVER you like, and the game figures out for you how your creature will walk and act out. As well, the behaviour changes as you go. I loved it when Will made a ship to combat the enemies, and his loveable peace loving creatures flew off instead. Fascinating control mechanism.
As well, everything you interact with is taken from other users who played the game. The various animals you will find are from others, the plants, the buildings, the tools...it's amazingly dynamic, and no two games should look or play out the same. This sort of dynamic allows the producers of the game to focus more on the game itself rather than how the creatures on each planet should look, an added bonus for a game as complicated as this.
I am seriously considering getting a new PC just for this game. Will Wright is a genius and my hero. I want to be like him when I grow up. That is of course, loved by all and rich.

Keep them from being filtered out? No. I think what you mean is replace them with > and <. Yeah, that can be done. | |

I think this is the first SOld Out that actually made me go "aww." Out loud. And, of course, I find the moment cute right after she's ripped some guy to shreds and is covered in blood. Well, I suppose that's me. | |
