A revolution, is the solution!

We're coming up on 100 comics, and we have something we want to do for our 100th comic, something that long time fans will likely appreciate. However, no large amount of time passes between the events of comic 100 and what you're looking at right now, so I believe Kyle wants to do a sort of montage of what everyone is up to. I have no real qualms about that, especially as things AFTER comic 100 are going to kind of come together. I do appreciate how the characters are starting to become vibrant though. They actually go out now and do their own things, sometimes what they actually end up doing is surprising even to us. Oh, and small note, the lady in the background is wearing a standard priestess outfit, for those of you who wanted to know so badly what that outfit would look like.

And yes, that was a bad ass movie. I need to see it again, I forgot what movie that line was even FROM until a reader reminded me.

If you heard a loud, reverberating scream, at about 2 pm Thursday, that would have been me reading this article. Long story short, the upcoming Nintendo Revolution's specs are...hardly better than an XBox. Now, obviously, don't take numbers at face value. A higher amount of dedication and some technical knowhow can make numbers almost meaningless, but when you're talking high-end MHz vs. low-end GHz, that's a difference.

From the numbers alone though, it looks like the Revolution will only be SLIGHTLY more powerful than an XBox. There's some things to keep in mind though. Computer architecture has changed a lot in the past few years. Keep this in mind, as what you could do with x yesterday will be way outperformed by the same x using modern schemes. As well, I want you to remember that despite the fact that the XBox had far superior specs to the Gamecube, games like RE4 proved that the technical superiority didn't matter and the cube could easily push far higher graphics than the XBox if done correctly.

As well, Nintendo has been SAYING that it is not going to try and go into technological warfare with Sony and Microsoft, it just wants to make fun games.

However, cross-platform games might have to take a serious hit, because where with the PS3 and XBox game designers may be taking certain liberties with a system, they cannot do the same for the Revolution. This could potentially cause serious third party dillemas

Enough with the negatives though, let's look at the plus sides to this news:

The cost of development will be really low. Third party developers who focus their resources on designing for the Revolution will be able to provide a superior product for less money, meaning more studios will be willing to take a risk if it's financially capable of being undertaken. Third party DIRECT support, and even second party development, might be aided by such things.

As well, if the ability to read data has gone up, which from this article I take it it has since it can read external data almost as quickly as local data, that means less load time, since the we don't have to worry about how long it takes for data to stream.

It all points to one thing, a more friendly experience for casual gaming. With lower costs and quicker access to wider content, the Revolution sounds pretty interesting. The specs still hurt though. Don't expect the prettiest games ever to be released on the Revolution, but do expect games and lots of them.

Yay for Boondock Saints. Best movie ever featuring William Dafoe as a homosexual drag queen. :-)

And shepards we shall be
For Thee, my lord, for Thee
Power hath decended from thy hand
That our feet may swiftly carry out Thy command
So we shall flow a river forth to Thee
And teeming with souls shall it ever be
In Nomine Patris, et Filii, et Spiritus Sancti

What? They aren't THAT big.
